One company, three generations
“Lord of 1,750 beds” – this is how they call Fritz Kaltschmid. He has earned this respectful title in many years of hard work – with the active support of his family. Today, three Kaltschmid generations work in the family business.
For a long time Fritz and Sieglinde Kaltschmid’s children have been working in the family business. The business structures are clear: it is clearly divided who runs and is responsible for which hotel. “The guests will always know who their contact person is. And we know who leads our hotels“, Fritz Kaltschmid explains, laughing.

In fact, it is quite simple: daughter, Sieglinde runs the hotel with 500 beds in Walchsee, son Fritz works in at Alpenlove – Adult Spa hotel, Ferienhotel Kaltschmid and Hotel Bergresort. Son Christian and his wife Daniela are responsible for Alpenpark Resort, Wellnesshotel Schönruh and Batzenhäusl. Boss Sieglinde is responsible for “almost everything”, especially the organization of the employees and the reception desk. She and her husband Fritz are showing their eight grandchildren how the business works.
The Kaltschmid have a great reputation due to their open nature – not only with their guests, but also with their business partners, suppliers and employees. The best proof for this are many longtime business relationships and cooperations. Fritz Kaltschmid adds:”The guests will only feel good, if the employees feel good.”
